Welcome To HoldingOntoLove

No family should ever face the emotional devastation of losing a child. Regardless of age or circumstances, the death of a son or daughter, brother or sister is traumatizing for the loving family left behind. HoldingOntolove is based on my non-professional philosophy that rejects advice from well-intentioned relatives or friends that bereaved families need to "let go," "get over," or "move on" from the losses of their children. Rather, I believe that we make progress in healing from the pain of this life-altering tragedy by refusing to ever let go of our children's love. Ensuring our children are not forgotten gives us strength and enables us to celebrate their lives while keeping them close in our hearts.

I created this forum as a grieving dad and only in that capacity. It offers no professional counseling or therapeutic services whatsoever. It does contain my personal experiences, observations, and opinions about manifestations of grief associated with the death of a child that are often misunderstood by others. I strongly encourage anyone suffering the devastation of child loss to consider consulting a professional counselor and/or participating in a grief-related support group in your community. It is my fervent hope that you will find some small measure of comfort and hope for the future from the information provided on this website, and my book on which it is based.

I am very grateful and proud of my son, David, for honoring his sister's memory by volunteering as our webmaster. Any comments or suggestions may be forwarded directly to me at tiffaniesdad@holdingontolove.com.
